About Savignac

It is right in the Vézère river valley (Prehistoric valley) which was classified as a world heritage site by the Unesco in 1979

Mankind Valley, what is that ?

At first a bureaucrat meaning, this name regroups all the main prehistoric sites, some of them 45 000 years old.

The story of Savignac and its sites are intertwined with the story of the valley.

La Ferassie, is a neanderthalian cemetery, one of the most ancient in the world.

A more recent place is the Saint Denys church, which is dated from the 12th century.

Located in the center of the village it will remind you when it's time to eat at noon or have a glass of rosé at 6pm :-)

Surrounded by hills, forests, walking trails, fields, Savignac will offer you wonderful landscapes, wether you want to have a walk, take a bike, or by car.

Close to the main historical sites and beautiful villages, and 8km (about 5 miles) from Le Bugue for every convenience stores.
